I always crank the volume up to ‘Night train’ by Guns and Roses.
Alanha Miles Black Velvet got a good intro and will admit the intro to White Snake ‘Is this love?’ always sends shivers down my spine.
gogzy:

You got it, on all three counts…
Though the one that stands out most for me has to be this one
Sepultura - Refuse/Resist
Or
AC/DC’s “For Those About to Rock…”
killing in the name of by rage against the machine i think has a great opening
Got to agree with you all on anything GnR. However try New Orders Blue Monday (the extended version) turned up to volume 11, a great way to start the day

That would be this one then.
Gun covered this on the River Sessions CD, now I know who did the original.

Curtis Mayfield 1970…
Hush now child,
and don’t you cry
Your folks might understand you
by and by
Move on up
towards your destination
You may find
from time to time
Complications
Bight your lip
and take a trip
Though there may be
wet road ahead
You cannot slip
So move on up
and peace you will find
Into the steeple
of beautiful people
Where there’s only one kind
So hush now child
and don’t you cry
Your folks might understand you
by and by
Just move on up
and keep on wishing
Remember your dreams
are your only schemes
So keep on pushing
Take nothing less -
not even second best
And do not obey -
you must have your say
You can past the test
Move on up!
They just don’t make em like that any more…
Two albums that I can’t help but play on repeat sometimes for a whole 10 hour shift are
Marillion ( both of them)
Clutching at Straws
Misplaced Childhood
I just love the way the tracks merge into each other on Childhood, and just some great writing by the boys on Clutching, especially the track Warm Wet Circles
Then there’s the best track I think they ever wrote - Sugar Mice
[/url]

Marillion backed up Simple Minds at one time…

Try this, but let it play and then listen to it all
That is [zb] good…hooked now. You can’t beat a good musician playing live.

Ed Alleyne Johnson played with New Model Army but prefers busking for beer money.
Try the Van Halen Eruption link too, that is good

One instrument I can’t stand is the violin… however…
That was brilliant!!!
Good post.
