I am starting a new tramping job on Wednesday and I am now looking to purchase a sat nav,the only problem is which one should I go for ?
There seems to be that many different ones about at various prices, do I go for a all singing and dancing one or just a bog standard ?
If money is no problem then I would go for the Tom Tom 7000 at £414 Its also comes with Live Traffic.
I ended up with the TT 950 which is great, but hasn’t got height/weight/width input ( the TT 7000 wasn’t available then) and when it comes time to change I’ll go down the road of the 7000, or whatever has taken its place.
I’ve been on to TT to see if they do an add on, but haven’t heard anything back from them yet.
I think the TT layouts are much better than others, but it is a personal thing.
Good luck.
you can get a cheeper one which is for cars but then down load low bridges on it from low bridges .com not used it but have been told its ok heights and wheights appear on screen and you just reroute or rather the sat nav does

^ this.
Don’t bother with the expensive all singing all dancing ones unless you haven’t got eyes & a brain in your head. The expensive ones are just for dummies.
Get a cheap TomTom and then just download the lowbridge app for it so you can see if there are any on your route. And I say TomTom specifically because they have the best looking maps with roads in the right colours and stuff. All the others have crappy looking maps.
