Which sat nav?

i disagree
if there is no pinhole to reset
when tom tom is on
just keep power button pressed down until it goes off
clears the memory

Yes, I know how to reset the thing - my point there being that the advice to poke the reset hole would have the poor guy looking for a very long time . But resetting doesn’t do what you appear to think it does anyway - It doesn’t clear the memory. It simply reboots the hardware and it then carries on from where it left off (once the GPS receiver has re-established your position). Everything that was in its memory - destination, waypoints, location at last switch-off etc - is retained.

I had similar problems with my Go Live 1000 (in my case the thing had unilaterally decided that a section of the M54 was a toll road, and was therefore to be avoided). The power button reset didn’t fix it, but deleting and reloading the map did.

Oh - and simply holding the power button until it goes off won’t reset it anyway - you have to keep it pressed for a further 10 seconds or so until it restarts with an audible drum-roll.

A friend has a snooper & loves it as he likes to watch TV in his downtime, I’ve used a Tom Tom 5150 for the last 3 weeks & not had a problem, I prefer to read when resting.
They all do the job, they all have faults or preferences.

I had a Snooper S7000 but had to bin it.
It was left in the sun for two days and the screen went black.
I now have the S8000.
As others have the said , the freeview TV is ideal for night outs watching films.
Poor or no TV reception is a pain ,depending on location.
