I think I’ve decided on a Snooper after reading favourable reports on here, but which one?
If cost wasn’t a factor then which model of Snooper would you opt for? I fancy the larger screen. 7" I believe. Doesn’t need to have Europe maps on it.
Is the 9000 the latest model? What has it got that the 7000 or 2000 model hasn’t?

edit- Now I can’t find any reference to a 9000 model It seems the 7000 is the latest model. May as well pay a little more and have the TV I suppose.
edit again!- is there a difference between a 7000 Syrius and a 7000 Ventura, or are they one and the same?

I have a truckmate 7000 and it is rubbish. The after sales service is not so hot either. I contacted them a few times after buying mine with a few suggestions, ie 2 different settings of brightness for day and night programed in. I was basically told that they know what we need. If i was to buy a new satnav I think I would go back to TomTom.

got to agree with you regarding after sales , sounds to me you spoke to the same arrogant prat i spoke to .
to be honest i find the satnav itself pretty good and the t.v part of it is a god send when you,re stuck waiting , however i’ve spoke to said arrogant bloke about 3 times now and i swear to god i dread the day something goes wrong with it because i cant see them bothering to help in the slightest . when this one breaks down its being binned and i’ll try something else . and dont even bother trying to understand the poi system , to me its total nonsence , something i stand no chance of getting my old head round and when i asked for help it was like banging my head against a brick wall . the poi chap even lied to me telling me he,d sort it himself , trust me he never did … waste of money if you ask me …
I have one and I would recommend it as above it does have it’s faults but it still gets you to where your going. I turned the poi’s off they’re gibberish. There is a night mode. Just tap the top of the screen in the middle and a menu will pop up, tap the picture of the sun and it’ll change to night mode.
I have the S7000 things that I like/dislike about it is
1.good size screen for viewing 2.tv works great got all freeview channels
3.night mode is great for making it less bright for the night on your eyes
4.the bridge height options is out standing and has help me out loads of times
5.the traffic warning is good and you can avoid and hold ups while onroute
Dislikes
1.touch screen is slow and accuracy when trying to key things in some times
2.bright sun light can make the screen hard to might just be every sat nav out their to
3.lack of being able to add your own poi,s as a single file like a gpx file is a shame
My tips
1.set your height to 2 inches above what your real height of your truck
2.set your axil weight to 8ton per axil so you don’t go over bridges that have 7.5 ton weight restrictions only set this weight if your truck is 17ton and above
3.set your truck to 7 foot 1 inch in width so you don’t go over narrow roads and bridges
4.makes sure your tv volume is set to max so when use the sat nav your sound volume could on max and your tv is on low can make it hard to here your unit
5.touch the main map screen at the top and you get a drop down menu like night mode etc
6.your power cord for your truck sat nav has the fuse on the end and can located by unscrewing it And replace the fuse rather than buying a new cord when it blew
I’ve been using the unit for over six months and hasn’t let me down,the sat nav is not 100% perfect like telling you do about turn in a arctic on a dual carriage way I use my comon sense when it being naughty.
Every sat has weakness and my main thing I wanted was the bridge heights and this does what it say on the tin.!
