Well after 2years off the road I’ve decided to return to driving. Now I’ve had 2 interview & driving assessments and been offered both positions, I`ll like to peoples views of which is better company to work for ,Freshlinc (Alconbury) or Robsons (Spalding). I know it would be up to me to decide but want to know anyone’s views if they have work for either of them.
which one has put your terms and conditions in writing
which one pays the best basic, daily, weekly…see overtime rate line below
which one pays the best average for an average week
which one penalises you on bank holiday weeks
which one pays proper overtime rates calculated on a daily not weekly basis…see previous line
which one pays full average pay for holidays and can you take holidays as and when you want them, full weeks or can you have fri and mon off to suit you for any events you might want to attend…see note about overtime calcs
which one pays proper overtime rates for weekends or night premium
which one pays proper rates for any bank hol working and is bank hol working voluntary or compulsory
which one treats you with respect (this one you’ll need current employees input and judge input from those who have left in sour grapes percentage)
which one pays full sick pay, like me you might not be a ■■■■ taker but you never know what might happen to you
lastly but not least which one offers working practices, start times, usual working days, that suits you not them
i’m sure there’s lots more our members can come up with but there’s a few off the top of me head
If you need any help with tying your shoelaces mate, I came across a decent website.

If you assume that he’s been interviewed by “the good cop” at both interviews, and fed similar bullcrap,a personal experience by someone who has met “the bad cop” ,might make all the difference

Not a single mention about manual gearboxes…
Nah, i’m a tart Evil, you cheeky young bleeder
terms and conditions seduces and keeps one monogamous, unfortunately the good payers tend to be companies who buy off the peg parcel spec fodder.
If someone came up with the same job same t’s and c’s but as a sweetener offered a properly specced for the job lorry that gave a bit of driver satisfaction to boot then i’d probably shift, but that isn’t going to happen cos situations like that don’t exist any more.
