Which concert venue?

Planning a night out with a couple of mates I don’t meet up with very often. We’ll be taking in a gig and our choice of venues are Hammersmith Apollo or Glasgow Royal Concert Hall. Chris Isaak is the artist. Does anyone have any opinion as to which venue might have the best atmosphere?

Saw the Aussie Floyd at the Glasgow Concert hall 2 yrs ago. The sound was pish, not as bad as the SECC though. It’s not a good venue for a rock gig and quite a few folks agree with me on that.

Not a Chris Issak fan myself, but I’d think the Hammy Apollo may be the better venue.

Thank you Inspector Morse! I knew somebody would work out who I was going to see! :grimacing:

The Apollo has good acoustics but no good for a boogie and his new album is a rock n roll tribute. Not difficult to work out who you want to see as you told us in the first post.

Bollox! So I did! This Alzheimers is great! Every day is like a new day! :grimacing:

Can’t comment on the Glasgow one, but I saw Squeeze at the Hammy Apollo back in 2007 or so, and was a really good night - we were right down the front, all standing, had a great night. You’re right up against the stage, so feels like a much smaller venue.
