We’re the same.
Up to 9hr 59 min they take 45 minutes off us
10 hrs to 11hr 14 min -1 hr
11 hrs 15 min to 12 hrs 14 - 1hr 15
12 hrs 14 min to 13 hrs 14 - 1 hr 30
13 hrs 14 min to 15 hrs -1hr 45 (Max)
Don’t we just love company accountants & their little calculations, while they do their 9 to 5 office jobs, working out ways of Penny Pinching off the Troops !
The latest little Scam they are about to Screw us with, is the Government Backed Pension that is being forced on every employer, they’ve Milked all they can off us in the past, so now they’ve come up with the next Investment Scam where they are making the companies pay into our pensions (out of their profits)
Oh ! I wonder where our Pay Rise is going this year !!!
Bend over Boys & Girls, we’re about to get Screwed again.
Give it 10 years & they’ll be Compo Claims all over the place again (another Miss selling Scam)

Ask your company to opt out of the pension, it’s not compulsory

DHL Kuehne Nagel and Wilkos all pay from clock on to clock off
I work for DHL and they deduct 30 minutes from me every day for my break, although my break(s) usually total 1 hour 10 minutes at the very least, I think that is fair
Kuehne nagle drinks also deduct breaks.
My boss pays us straight through but my last job they took an hour a day off you and drivers still used to tip on break idiots
when I worked for K transport in wolverhampton they used to not only stop you an hour for lunch but if you had to go into a 10 hour drive they would stop you another hours pay for the extra break so if you ended up doing a 15 hr duty you was only getting paid for 13 hours work

Yea, I know, I’m just having a Dig at Yet Another ‘Possible’ Government Scam !
My firm doesn’t deduct breaks and they even give you an extra 30 mins a day on top for doing paperwork.
Fowler Welch pay breaks. Father in law used to work for them(might still do, not seen him for a while). Basic rate is under £8p/hr but they get a lot of benefits (subsidised flights with jet2 being one). They also pay every hour on duty including breaks. Handy when sat on a bay at an RDC.
Think your talking rubbish here, half hour off for lunch no more, yer being ripped off if anything more
Well 45 mins no?

Are you trying to say other companies do not pay when sat on a bay at an RDC?

HiI know Turners of S do not pay for breaks
ThanksYou 100% sure on that are you?
I was hourly paid on Turners (on OOCL container contract) and we weren’t docked for our breaks.
I’m now on ISOtank and we’re paid through too. R Plevin + Sons do not dock any dinner time either. Maritime and Roadways are also paid through.

No no not at all, my train of thought was stick it on break, none of this POA, then when tipped all driving time etc is reset, rather than mess about with POA/OW etc. In my work I have to register my breaks on the isotrak so keep them to a minimum (find other ways to have a sneaky brew!). In all honesty I don’t know how it works for the people who do RDC work, whether different companies expect POA or OW to be used when being tipped or what, just thought it was handy sticking it on break. Come to think if I imagine it’s the done thing to stick it on break and companies pay duty time minus 45 mins or 30 mins.

I’ve heard (as you do in this game) that there are companies who dock ALL recorded breaks… I’ve no idea whether this is true or not though tbh.
Now, there’s 2 ways to deal with that, 1 is to always use other work, and if you’re due a 2nd break then park up for the night, other is to tell them to stick their job and find another mug. I would always choose option 2.

Aye. I’ve heard some won’t pay POA either.
Now, as POA was only introduced to allow us to extend our actual ‘working’ hours, following demand from our employers. If they ain’t going to pay me for POA, or breaks, I’d be walking as well.
I’m at work, I expect to be paid for being at work. I can live with not being paid for my 45 minute break, I’ll take a break and I don’t mean on a bay.
If the gaffers organisation is so bad that I have to use POA, and I ain’t being paid for it, I ain’t going to work there. Simple.
