It’s not a pleasant job put it that way. Maybe you have 5-6 drops a day and a full artic load. Cages and pallets mixed as well as chilled and frozen. Now you might get lucky and have 2 drops at a service station or bigger estate, but generally speaking it will be somewhere tight and you have to carry the stuff up or down the stairs. Nah, keep your money [emoji16]

What band are these average abodes in for council tax these days?

I would imagine that the choices are “Eat, Heat, or Pay the Overheads”…

My council tax these days is higher than my mortgage - I would imagine that millions of others are in the same boat…

There used to be an argument for South workers moving oop narth for the cheaper housing there, albeit for rather lower hourly rates doing the same job as darn sarth…

These days though? - Kent is paying lower than Cheshire, Lancashire has 3-bedroomed properties priced up higher than the Home Counties, and Council taxes tend to be cheaper in the Tory-run Boroughs, of which there are few, even with Boris’ breach of the Red Wall and all…

My council tax is £178.00

How much under £2million for a 3 bed? That sounds quite a lot.

£200000 buys a decent house 3 beds around Newport Cwmbran area 30 minutes to Avonmouth where you can choose to do what you like driving wise Bristol is the most expensive city in the region so to attract the locals the pay is rather good great if like me you live just across the border.

Band C is “Purchased for less than £90k” isn’t it?

No. They’re all based on valuations in 1991. Nothing to do with sale prices.

Band C being £52-68k in 1991.
