msgyorkie:
Stacking shelves at Aldi… allegedly.

Aldi pay good for drivers per hours būt they give just q80 hours per moth.My friend work there and total taked home just around 600 and less.

Logistics people advertising £18.50 - 24.00 ph Morrison’s sittingbourne , £17.50 -£23.00 ph PepsiCo Coventry , I went from £13.00 - £15.00 ph but looks like they had more pay rises . My mate rang me to tell me as he’s full time stobarts & there on about 60 p apx ph to put them upto £10 ph , he’s not happy when there paying £7/8 ph more for basically doing the job he does
Was dubious about £18.50-£24.00 ph or Coventry wage but on there website , money seems to be going up daily , makes you wonder where it will all end

Indians and Filipinos arriving in 3… 2… to put an end to this silliness and bring everyone back down to the tenner an hour that we’re really ‘worth’.

Besides, the rates should have been £20/hr years ago when you look at food, rent, vehicle, property price inflation over the past decade. Todays £20/hr is 2010s £10/hr in terms of buying power.

The driver training facility down the road from me is very busy,i noticed lots of African looking lads doing the cpc walk arounds last week.

Fill your boots live n let live and all that, the rates will be forced up even with the influx of whoevers…

Being the cynical old bugger than I am, I foresee a ‘free’ government grant to train you up all the way up from car licence to class 1 level happening before too long. Naturally funded through taxation which we’ll all be paying for and the rates will return back to a tenner an hour. But as you say : fill your boots while it lasts.

Not sure they’ll drop down, but I would foresee a longer term freeze going forwards

UC will fund up to £2k now if i remember correctly but only if you are long term and have a good job coach,if you are younger than 24 this is already happening, no way will this fix the current problem though. This shortage was a threat years ago, that they ignored while throwing cheap labour at it. The only way out is correct money better terms and respecting the drivers… They might learn late but at least they are now learning the HARD way.

P.S Anyone on universal credit must ask their job coach for training, the job coaches are told not to offer training!!! You must ask for it,then make an application which outlines why and how you are entitled to the funding.
