I spent 8/9 yrs on Grain but never deliverd to where I think this is 
my first thought though was near Crewe but cant for the life of me think of the company name they had blue fodens me thinks and you had to double way or drop your trailer and weighbridge guy was a really miserable old sod…it was always the wrong time of day when ever you turned up…

You were right on the town on your 1st guess, but i cant remember blue fodens or double weighing in last 20 years, so you may be thinking of somewhere else.

Colin youre right it is Mornflake Oats.
I dont remember the weighbridge stuff, they now weigh as you tip.
The miserable old sod has now retired through ill health, (too much oat dust without a mask.even though he was warned on many occasions 
) also rumours he was getting backhanders from certain now defunct companies to provide loads and preferential treatment.
