Where was dieseldave (MkII) solved by Inselaffe &Mr Wolf

Now then chaps and chapesses, here’s my next effort at a contest…

This pic was taken in a lay-by on the outskirts of a town on an “A” road, but just off camera to the right is a road sign that tells you the name of the town.

You’ll need both questions correct to win the contest.

Q1.) Which “A” road?
Q2.) What is the name of the town?

So, where was I?

Could be anywhere, thats a standard wildfowl sign.

But, there is one exactly like that in a lay-bye on the A259 just outside Hastings.

I like your style Dave, do you think you will get any bites?

I almost bit on the red-herring, but I’m sure its not Aberdeen, or is it :unamused:

Hi Neil, it looks like I nearly got a bite just above.  :grimacing:

Hi Martin, Yes mate- you’re spot-on about the red herring, cos it’s not Aberdeen.

Hi Martin, sorry mate, it’s not Hastings nor is it the A529. :frowning:

It seems that even Mr Lonewolf is stumped… maybe :frowning:

I’m waiting for him to ask for a clue…

Watch this space…

To give a hint, the “A” road has ONE digit ie: A x and there’s no trickery, cos full sized trucks and coaches use this road.

Another hint: Trucks would normally go about 100yds past this sign, then turn either left or right onto an “A” +two digits road .
Very few would go straight ahead.

  EDITED to correct the part shown in RED above.
SORRY for the confusion, it’s my fault

LOL I think even I might be stumped by a sign I can’t even read and very little else

I’ll go with the A487 coming into Bangor

Lonewolf Yorks:

Well now, there’s the stone wall and some trees Mr Wolf, and you’ve normally got my attempts nailed with far less in the way of clues. :frowning:

Inselaffe isn’t far away and now there’s an extra clue in his screen-name.

Inselaffe:

:open_mouth: Blimey, that’s uncomfortably close Kumpel, but not correct on either count.

Sorry about this chaps, but I made an unintentional error with the road number in the clue a couple of posts above, which I’ve now corrected in RED.

Himmel, Arsch und Zwirn

Na, gut let’s try the A5 just before Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch

Noo he beat me to it lol your in the layby on the A5 just outside Llanfair what he said

You gave it away with the clues in his name, Insel is island isn’t it. And theres only one AX road on Anglesey

We have a winner, or should I say winners.

I cocked that up good and proper, and both of you have a reputation for being good at these ‘where was I’ contests, so I feel it’s fair to call it a draw.

Looking back, I think the clues I gave made it too easy. :frowning:

You’re spot-on on all counts Lonewolf Yorks.

And you’re also spot-on with the German, for Insel is indeed ‘island’ in English.

  I do apologise to both of you for my ■■■■-up.

Not really, Dave.
I had to go to “Another Place” to get more info…

Hi Inselaffe, now you know where it is, you can see the very sign on my pic on Google street view.
If you then pan around the image, you’ll see the sign for Llanfair PG in the same shot.

I’m off on my travels again soon, so I’ll have go at another contest or two on here.

I’ll be back… :grimacing:

Der Schlüssel dazu war wo Du den bösen Wicht gesehen haben willst…
