im looking into buying an old motor to restore where would i find out what price they are bought and sold for?

it all depends on age and what the truck is

if it is a classic truck, there are various classic truck mags out there with sales pages in the back

Wasn’t there a Scania 111 on ebay recently for £50,000?

if youre after 143 F12/16 kinda thing, your better off looking abroad, if you want one that hasnt been done up you can pick em up for around 5/6000 euros if your lucky. I once saw a left ■■■■■■ 86 in Germany or Spain, cant remember now, for about £2500 and it wasnt in bad nick.

its only an old k reg(1970?) erf a series its more for a memory than to earn any money from it (if they are worth anything)

If you can find such a thing parked at the back of a haulage yard in typical condition, i.e. with a tree growing through it, I don’t imagine you’d have much trouble getting it for a grand or two provided the owner wasn’t too emotionally attached to it.

Certainly seems to be the case that leaving your old Scania or Volvo shunter in a field for a couple of decades is a not bad investment. I was gobsmacked to see what some restoration enthusiasts are willing to pay.

Not as pretty as Harry’s ex-bos’s (yet) but it’s work in progress, I bought it in Germany 18 months ago & drove it home.

That’s nice, I remember the Kavcnic trucks, I think they are still around now, I’m sure I have seen them loading fruit in Venlo earlier this year.

An associated company I work for has two or three old FH’s parked up in the back of a shed in our yard. All complete.
