Where to Fuel Up?

Well ive done it, picked up my first unit yesterday, strange feeling i must say to own a truck  Not sure neighbours were too impressed when i parked it overnight on drive :open_mouth: but hey who cares.

First run Monday down to Norwich ,with a load of bagged aggregate from Bawtry and then a back load of food from Wisbech to Asda Normanton.

My question to those of you local to Doncaster is where do you fuel up?

Running height tomorrow is 14ft 6, any suggestions for cheapish fuel, either in local vacinity or enroute to Norwich??

Cheers fellas, can now officially call myself an owner driver :stuck_out_tongue:

You using a fuel card?

Not sure if you’re on a card, but Markham Moor may be of use if you’re on the A1. If you’re heading west Wentworth seems to be the spot. Hope these are of use.

If you’re in need of work, Salvesens at Rockware used to be popular for subbies, but haven’t been in for a couple of years now.

are you looking for fuelcard sites or somewhere to buy fuel with cheap pump prices ?

fuel up at morrisons rotherham, cheapish and you get the miles points which gives you a fiver voucher to spend at morrisons, i always tell my missus its a wine voucher
where are you based â– â–
i am in broughs yard at adwick

hi mate you could fuel up at the truckstop europort thingy normanton i think they take most cards eg keyfuels uta

Cheers the info Fellas,

I fuelled up at Whitwood ( Europort Thingy  ) the other day and noted cheapish fuel.

What fuel cards are best to have??

Any advice appreciated

most of the big company’s do them bp best bet is keyfuels some sort of bunkerin thingy

Best thing to do is apply for as many cards as you can then use whoever is cheapest each week

try a.i.d they do all the usual and are quoting very cheap prices at the mo, (if any diesel price could be described as cheap?)
failing that if you can stand the cash morrisons as porky said is by far the cheapest are way.

Red will offer you monthly credit terms when pushed, this is a joy with cashflows as they are, also for competiveness, smart will cut their leg off to beat Red at0930 every Monday morning.

Some of the bigger boys, BP, SHELL etc require a substantial deposit before issuing you an account, which kind of defeats the object.

On the cash front morrisons at M18 J1 has good access for HGV as does Morrisons at Boroughbridge (A1 north and south).
If you just enjoy being harrassed by big mamas go to Tankersley on the 628 and brace yourself, it’s flaresome!!!

cheers :open_mouth:
