Near one of the D-Day landing beaches?
a bit more in-land think this 1 was on the N23 le-Flache to Le-mans road but it could have been anywhere between the normandy beaches and the last one at bastogne in the Ardenne forest

There are about 1400 of these on Liberty Road, one for every km the allied forces used during the Second World War!! so finding this one would be a little difficult

yes but their number and road is on the side and why arnt the ones in belgium kept as nice as the french ones?

Yeah, but we can’t see the side of the Borne in this photo. I think the French ones are better kept because the Voie de la Liberte is seen as a national commemoration in France. They do a bike ride every other year of the road as a rememberance, so suppose its a tourist thing as well.
