The M42 northbound just approaching junction 10 has a slight right hand bend. The photo has been taken from the overbridge on Overwoods Road using a very large telephoto lens which exagerates the curve in the road by shortening the distance between linear points. The news story is about an incident between Junction 3a and 4 so , not having a photo of the actual incident, the news team have used a stock photo of the M42.

Yes, if you google the northbound section on google maps and compare the 2 photo’s you will notice how long the slip road is in reality, yet this picture in the article the slip road looks like it’s about 50 years long ! Trick of the lens !
