There were a few suggestions on where to get some help with revamping your CV but I can’t remember the detail.
Anyone remember?
global.
Just type it onto Google or any search engine.
A lot of on-line CV advice is for ‘white collar’ jobs. they encourage you to put loads of 'soft skill waffle on the top - ‘a motivated individual and good team player’ etc.
For truck driving, I’d make sure of the following.
Name, address and contact details at top.
State your licence status (classes, dates tests passed and points) and Driver CPC status (hours, course titles) very near the top, followed by ADR, crane forklift etc if held.
then state how many years of commercial driving experience and in what vehicle categories and doing which specialist tasks.
then list your employers in reverse order with dates. Try not to leave any large gaps. Again if you had responsibilities beyond driving, list them. These might include customer contact, loading unloading specialist cargo, workshop duties, helping in the office etc.
No lies…most employers respect honesty and the man who never made a mistake never made anything (women never make mistakes, as any wife will tell you).
