Work bank holiday, get paid double time, and get extra days holiday, seems a good deal to me.

It was a federal holiday here also, the first one of the year as we are not blessed with thousands of f*****g bank holidays a year like you lot 
I actually finished for the week on Thursday afternoon and started back Monday night, running empty down to Philly for Tuesday’s load, I finished for this week last night (Thursday again) so I did just two Ben & Jerry’s deliveries for this entire week and my missus is complaining that it will only be a $900.00 pay week for this week, I don’t think $900.00 for 2 deliveries and 4 days is bad
Actually it wasn’t really 4 days, I left late on Monday and was done by Thursday so 3 and a bit work days.

Err i know you’ve been over there a long time Pat but there are ten Ferderal holidays per annum, we only have eight public holidays. I know that for most people we get many more paid holidays than you but let’s be right.

You have it wrong my friend, there are 10 listed but only 6 days are actually recognised by companies, Transport companies only recognise New years day, Memorial day (which we had last week), 4th of July, Labour day, Thanksgiving and Christmas day. All other listed holidays are only advisory.
In the UK you have had Good Friday, Easter, May day and Whit Monday (last week) that’s already 4 of yours to our one
