Where have all the hitch-hikers gone?

Years ago, they were all over europe, students mainly.trying to save their pennies, some on the way to Morocco, but i used to see a lot on the Salamanca/Valladolid road, one young lady i found in Lisbon, was beaten up badly, bruises, and slept all the way to Paris, must have taken something, with no papers,i had to drop her off and leave her,as had a ferry crossing, there was a bad smell from her body, not sure what happened to her.

Probably to many horror stories have scared the students off, kids these days :unamused:
Then theres the drivers who won’t stop for the same reason, drivers these days :unamused:

Most of them have probably been murdered by drivers.

Jeremy Clarksons Top Gears comments helped the drivers image out a bundle,as we all murder prostitutes?

Today’s environment is totally different to the old days for hitch-hikers, for a start it’s a lot easier and cheaper to get around these days, so no need for the perils of thumbing it. Plus the quality of today’s euro trucker is not what it used to be, what with all the flip flop brigade doing most of the journeys and thinking that anyone getting into your cab is a invitation for a shag. In the old days we were glad for the company on a long journey to help pass the time and was a result if the passenger paid for the coffee’s. Don’t listen to all that ■■■■■■■■ about drivers getting there end away every day with leggy blonds on the road, they don’t queue up to put out for truckers in my experience.Plus have you noticed that it’s the fat smelly ugly ones that seem to get the most ■■■ on the roads.

I was more concerned with the amount of gear he carried.
“Change gear, change gear, change gear, murder a prostitute, change gear”.
What was wrong with the gear he had on initially ?
(Obviously the final gear change would have been necessary)

There was the lorry driver who was delivering a truck loaded with chickens from liverpool to France he was lonley so he used to take his pet parrot with him anyway one day he thought i gotta have some woman company as you do and picked up a hitch hicker on the M1 and after a couple of mile said to her Do You do a turn or what ? :open_mouth: no she said i do not so he stopped on the hard shoulder and said get outa my truck then at the services picked up another young girl after a couple of mile he said hey do you do a turn or what :open_mouth: ? NO NO She Said i dont so he again stopped on the sliproad and said get out of mi truck .
once he got to France he saw a Nun walking along a country lane so he stopped again and asked her if she would like a lift oh wee she said and climed into the cab … then as usual after a breif conversation he said sister do you ever do a turn well she said you sweet talking thing as its you i will but not with that parrot watching us .
so fast as a flash he took the parrot and put it in the back with the chickens and did the buisness with the Nun and realy enjoyed himself after dropping of the Nun he continued his journey and forgot about the parrot in the back and after 25 k the police pulled him over . as the officer walked up to the cab the trucker said is there a problem ossifer and the policeman said you are loosing your load mate you better have a look .
so he got out of the cab and walked to the back of the truck to see :open_mouth: the parrot stood on the tailgate with chickens held by the neck and saying do you do a turn or what NO WELL GET OUTA MI TRUCK THEN
and a trail of chickens right down the road    :unamused:

Really? Have you looked at the cost of train fares lately?

Are there any Diesel Queens still living on the road in Europe?

They got a lift.
