After reading and contributing to the other post I would like to ask the same question to the employers.
I believe I am a good driver with many skills pertaining to the job that I do, but why do so many employers treat me like something they can just use and abuse.
My last employer is a case in point, he didn’t care one iota about my welfare, health or state of mind. All he was interested in was getting the trip done as quickly as possible and turn straight round again.
My last employer is a cowboy and should not be allowed to hold a operators licence but he does and as done for many a year.
Don’t get me wrong I am willing to work hard, for a fair wage.
Bosses these days just treat their drivers as a comodity which is easilly replaced if anything goes wrong with it.
So come on employers, who are the good ones that treat their drivers with the respect they deserve.
love the title of the post - simple, as long as morons keep running bent for cowboy bosses, the more reputable operators will get disheartened and quit the industry or simply go out of business trying to compete with the cowboys - who will be the only ones left
here endeth the first lesson

Where have all the good employers gone
down the pan
mine aint too bad touch wood would like a bit more pay but then who would’nt
Mine is good, good salary, nights out are extra, struggle to do 40 hours a week in fact finished today at 10.30am mind you I did start early 06.00…No stress no hassle…no nights out if you don’t want them, no weekend work or bank holiday.
Now for the bad bits…er there is none.

Deepinvet, you better mind that job, i’d say half of trucknet are looking back through your posts to see who you work for and nab your job.
The job was advertised in The Truckstop news and still is I think…I don’t think I have mentioned who I work for, I’m not going to either.
Got a letter this morning to tell me I have a 3% pay rise…
Forgot to say aswell we don’t go over the water.
