Where are the good payers? Career guidance please!

Fellow drivers…

Now that I’ve had my Class 1 for six months and can manoeuvre to a fair degree, I think its reasonable for me to expect a bit more pay than what I’m on at the moment.

Now I’m certainly not unhappy with my lot currently (I know there’s much worse )

But £8.50 flat rate can only be sustained for a limited amount of time. So, the question is:

Can anyone give me some advice as to where I could start looking■■? I’ve thought about Home Bargains, ASDA, DHL…

I was also going to go back on agency but I’m not sure about that one…thanks as always for your contributions

Depends where you live tbh so cant help really as my crystal ball has broken

You’ll find that the better paying jobs aren’t at haulage companies. They are normally companies that run trucks to facilitate the part of the business that does make money. This is why supermarkets etc tend to pay better. The problem with these is that they can be fairly restrictive with regards as to how much you’re allowed to think for yourself and the routes will tend to be repetitive.

If you do the supermarkets then you normally run from ther RCD to a shop which could be anywhere within local area as most dont do night out different wagon every day / night

Often at 1st they take you on via a agency you also have to do an assessment which involves reading number plate from said distance couple up drive round reverse into bay normally trailer either side then out on the road with some tight turns in
