I used to see students at Calais or other ports with boards up saying “Moroco please”.
Plenty around Spain/Portugal.Some were girls alone or with a mate.
I met two Ozzy birds,got a nice letter and invite when one of them got home.
Her mate cabbed it with a Spaniard.
Two lasses who i said:,I will sleep in your tent and you can use my two bunks.
I woke up to open the cab door with two naked students in my cab.
I thought to myself,you muppet,what a loser.Could have got lucky with a BOGOF.
One was very odd.From Lisbon to Paris,she was covered with cuts and bruises and smelt like a dead badger.
She slept all the way.Must of had a fight with the hubby and on some drugs of some sort.She was like a corpse.Had to abandon her on a Msa on the Paris ring road as was shipping in to the UK.No passport on her or I.D.Cruel i know.
Years ago when I was doing Europe and middle east there was no shortage of hitchhikers,but now it’s as good as dead.
Some few months ago,I was coming off Strensham msa n/b and I saw an old guy with a rucksack,an Aussie hat and a huge beard tryng to hitch.
I passed him and went home.
Two weeks later,same msa,the same guy was standing there.
Now the question I ask myself is,had he been somewhere and was he making another trip,or was he still there from when I saw him before?
Haven’t seen him there this last couple of times.

it’s been a year since I last did any real long distance work but you could still see them around, mostly in twos so couldn’t help out any of them. the “fun” of seeing europe hitchhiking escapes me as you’re trying to get to reims but it’s 11pm on a sunday in an msa in bordeaux and it’s raining cats and dogs 
I suppose with the likes of easy jet and Ryan air it makes travel more affordable now
And Jeremy Clarkson’s comment about murdering prostitutes.

I’ve seen the same lass twice by the roundabout at the Golden Fleece services M6 jcn 43, in the early hours recently.Thought about pulling over, but then thought best not.
They are all, and yes I mean ALL in my garden shed! It’s Sunday today and I like to dress them up special like.

I thought i would have somebody to talk to but she got in and fell asleep.What do you think she was on?Horse tranquilizer?I wonder how she got back to Portugal.

I used to pick up hitch hikers of the female variety when I worked in the UK. Over here I wouldn’t even consider it, you don’t know if you will be set up for something, robbed or even worse killed. Then there is the chance that if some female comes on to you and you react in a manly way and take up the offer you will be slapped with a ■■■■ charge further down the road. Hitch hikers are a risk nowadays, you don’t know what they have planned for you.

I once picked up two young birds they were ok but never shut up for 4hours.
