Mr Kindle, what a pleasant remark, I always wondered who the driver was, was it you ?.
It certainly wasn’t me, I was stood behind my Kodak Brownie camera at the time, thats the closest that I got to it. I never even worked for the John Player racing team.
, but I did do several trips, with a load of Rothmans down to Athens
. Not the same really.
They have a lot to answer for.
My interest in trucks was reignited by the F1 circus.
John Player also has to take the blame for me starting smoking Gold Leaf with the original Lotus 49. Sponsorship and Advertising does work
JPS Lotus bred some of the finest drivers in the world.
Graham Hill & Emerson Fitipaldi to Mario Andretti and the late great Ayrton Senna.
Those mountains do have a French look about them, I’ll go with south of Chamberey
Torn between Italy or Spain, OK I’ll go with Spain

Sorry newmercman not Chambery or France, although if you had a small plane you are not far off, but this time you’ve drawn a BLANC.

Hard luck James C, its not Spain but if you have another guess I am sure that you will get it.
After over 260 views, I think nearly all the drivers who went here stopped for a couple of minutes and saw this scene .
In this country the people eat a lot of spaghetti and one of its most famous citizens was Pinochio,

Bravo James C. Yes it is Italy . I thought when I posted this somebody would of said straight away thats easy, its AOSTA .
About 1983 I was stood with my back to Aosta Autoporto,( the customs) when I took the photo, now which driver never called in there . If you look close you can see Aosta airfield and the hangers
. After coming in to Italy through the Mont Blanc Tunnel, it was one of the few places that you could park a truck.
I thought the clues, ARE ON THE RIGHT TRACK, SMALL PLANE
and DRAWN A BLANC might of helped. I dont know what the road is called now but it used to be the A5. Are there any drivers out there who went to Italy in the 80s ?
I was almost right, correct mountain range, just the wrong side of the hill
Didn’t use the Blanc much, unless I had to do the vet at Aosta I was a Frejus man & yes, during the 80s
