When you should have stayed in bed

Having a bad day, think of this guy…

Excellent bit of reporting, the driver wasn’t even in the vehicle when the second bit happened.

Surely the first rule of recovery club is to make sure it ain’t gonna roll away when you put it back on its wheels?

Is Boss & Driver on recovery now or something?

I feel better about my bad day now.

I turned up,in the middle of Leeds at 5 this morning with a 12 metre mobile phone mast loaded over the cab roof. It was only when I’d set the outriggers up that I realised that when I’d loaded the pole with a telehandler, I’d forgot to unfold the crane. With the pole on the frame, there seemed no way to deploy the crane :open_mouth:

I have never felt such a pillock wondering WTF I was going to do while half a dozen riggers and electricians stood watching me. I got out of it by very cautiously lifting the pole off the headboard frame with the main boom and lowering it onto a frame constructed from 8’ timbers and lots of straps  . I then had to unwind the crane and creep it round the cab with literally 1/4 of an inch to spare! The worst of it was that once it got delicate, everybody else melted away. What is they say about defeat being an orphan…

Note to self…

did anyone else scroll down and watch the three bin high skip truck video, we have fools like that near poole.
