When they were paying 50 pence above min wage for class 1

Back in 2007 I remember the agencies were paying fifty pence above minimum wage for class 1. Must be an awful shock to road hauliers now finding they have to actually pay a wage. I wonder how many fancy cars and holidays the bosses had during those years with a wage bill that low. They must have woke up singing every morning. Whatever you do don’t feel sorry for them. If they have to pay you 50 grand a year then you take it - they’ve had 20 years of practically free labour - you deserve every last penny you can squeeze out of them.

Yes I’m sure many of us have been told “there’s no money for a payrise” over the years.

While also seeing the chief live in a big house, drive a flash car and so on.

So yeah grab what we can while we can.

Yeah that’s an old favourite. I havn’t had a payrise in 3 years - since the shortage I’ve had two in 2 months. I thought you didn’t have any money? “Yes - that’s right - we don’t have any money FOR YOU because the boss and his family want it”. Time to share and share alike
