The topic about safe loads got me thinking, what have you carried on platform trailers,no low-loaders,semi low-loaders but just platform trailers. The older drivers will I am sure come up with loads more (excuse the pun). Here is my list of what i can remember.

On a flat lorry, I once had a (Small) orchestra from the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama on the back while it performed in Glasgow Central Station during Charities Day.
What’s more, during the playing of the ‘Stripper’ music, one of the girls did a strip to her undies and stockings!
Ringside seat and getting paid for it too!
Those were the days!

70’ long canal boat, steel hull, rounded bottom,on a trombone trailer. does that count! also a 65’ long lattice crane jib with 10’ hanging over the cab. weirdest must be huge sacks of peanuts out of liverpool docks into south wales ,how the hell it stayed on the trailer i dont know.
