When men were men

the some thing a bit different that some of you might like. This film was made in 1929 and is of the four masted Barque " The Peking " making a trip from Hamburg to Chile carrying Nitrates. It’s a bit slow and strange to start with but gets better as it goes along. The “Peking” survived some horrendous storms in the southern ocean on this trip and are well worth watching.

Everyone on board was there for a reason, no H.and S. or DCPC nonsense.

H&S would have a fit if they saw that, mind I thought it was strange the way he mentioned the two who were washed overboard so casually.

Brings back memories of the Horn during the winter, the seas were that big that when sitting down at the table to eat you would lean forward for three days going up the wave and then lean back for three days when going down it. :frowning:
