So we are stopping at the edge and lying at the side:
or we are going to the beach:
Sometimes, we are visiting friends and going for barbecue in theirs garden (and my DAF is trying to pick up some VW Polo, but she looks shy - maybe 26 tons is too much for her?):
Off course the true was different: first image was done when I was trying to avoid head-on crash with a speeding BMW on single track road on isle of Benbecula. The hard shoulder turned to be soft shoulder. Too soft even for empty DAF CF BMW driver don’t even stop, off course.
Second picture was done on isle of North Uist, when the beach just after one farm was only place to turn (otherwise I would reverse about mile on narrow, ground road). But locals are using beaches as motorways - i heard once “get the beach eastbound, pass big dunes and then take second exit”
Third picture is on Isle of South Uist, when we delivered some ceramics, hydraulic and radiators to that house. Usually small van is doing deliveries to places like this one, but that stuff was to heavy for Iveco Daily and it was to far from the road to carry it, so I decided to drive there…
