A question for some of the ex M/E chaps…reading one of the daily papers today it was stated that, in Iran, apparently a clenched fist giving the “thumbs up” is in fact an insult on par with us giving someone the V sign or the American one fingered salut!!!
Is this true? If it is then surely it must apply to the rest of the Arab world.
Note for Bush and Blair, when on one of your hearts and minds love in`s with the Arab peoples…watch the hand signals
I’ve got no idea, but I don’t remember hearing that one before.
Just before I finished with the army we were warned we would be going to Kuwait soon, for what turned out to be The Gulf War, Round 1. There were numerous briefing documents appearing, containing all sorts of info’. I’m pretty sure I would have remembered something like that, if it had been mentioned. That was 15 years ago though, so it may have slipped my memory.
