Honked:
Thanks, but there was only one person brawling here.
It takes two to have a fight.
When the cyclist started off I thought “what a bellend”, when you got out of the cab to confront someone who was obviously spoiling for a fight I thought “what a pair of bellends”.
You sir, are entitled to your opinion even if it means you’re wrong.
I won’t expect a front page apology though so you can rest easy private.
Buy really, what were you trying to achieve by getting out of your cab? What did you think was going to happen when you confronted someone who looked they wanted to smack someone?
You has a steel door separating you from him and you chose to remove that defence.
What you can’t hear me saying is I asked the guy to calm down. After he started the attack, I thought it best to hold him off. After the 5th or 6th punch I asked him if had finished but he hadn’t, so I took him down.
Not everything in life is about battles, sometimes a helping hand even in conflict can change things.
What actually happened to make him flip his lid? Im guessing he wanted to follow the van to get in front of you but because you moved faster than he expected/wanted he decided it was your fault he got left in the wrong lane?
You should be an expert in when/why cyclists attack Snowman, you get enough stick on here from a few!
Personally I think this cyclist has a mindset that he doesn’t need to ride defensively, as he has the god given right to ride on the road! (As he does!)
And when his right is infringed upon in any way or his safety put at risk, he has the right to go loopy at any motorist why doesn’t consider him and his god given rights before anything else!
Funny how the ■■■■■■■■ wanted to scoot off smartly once it dawned on him that he`d way overstepped his behavioural rights, and was going to have to account for his actions to plod. Good of the 4X4 guy to do his bit once he could see what the situation really was, too.
Just another day of living the dream, eh?
Right at the end, on the pavement at the far right after the grey car moved off, well it seemed to be still kicking off. A bloke on foot pulled him off his bike etc.
Well done Honked but perhaps you shoulda stayed in the cab and let him get on with it but your restraint was admirable.
Presumably after the traffic lights he was riding down the centre of the road level with your cab into the face of oncoming traffic trying to argue with you ? he seems like a bigger idiot that I originally give credit for, It is up to him to drop back.
I have been tying to add balance to this thread by being on the side of the cyclist, but, after viewing that I can’t actually find even the tiniest of excuses for him. You seem to be at least 100% in the right from beginning to end.
And what was he saying to yourself and others near the end of the video, he seemed to be alienating everyone. Looked like the other cyclist was going to give him a slap at the very end.
So did you think because he had a beard he would run off if you shouted at him?
Or do you mean you wanted a fight as much as he did?
It wouldn’t surprise me if the police take no action after they investigate it. They are likely to see it as two people having a scuffle where nobody was hurt, so isn’t worth taking any action over.
And I bet all the witnesses saw it as two people fighting rather than one person attacking another.
He must have been due back at the home for lunatics but running late. I can’t see anyone with a brain cell trying a move like that. I can see why Honked didn’t throw a punch… couldn’t work out where the berks chin ended. Anyway, why would you sit there letting said berk try to damage your vehicle ? He has no number plates or anything else to identify him, but he certainly needed a lesson. Just maybe, he’s learnt a lesson here, but I do doubt it.
