When are you ok to drive a hgv-lgv?

The-Snowman:

Radar19:
If someone paid me the same money or more to go drive a van doing the same as what I do now, I’d ditch truck driving.

Well thats fair enough and entirelly up to you. My point is why would someone who isnt an hgv driver come on here and come up with ridiculous drivel like his original post? And the most likely explanation is he is van driving but wants to do HGV but keeps failing the test.

Ive put the op in question as a foe snowman,i think the rest of us should so we dont have to read the complete bollox he posts, end of

tango boy:
0Two name plates in one window oh the shame.
I don’t care what you think, [zb]!!!

  hav my name plate in theres 250 plus drivers at our place plus i downt like the boss shouting oi twaaat hury up and go

the job they do and told them I would like to do a macho type job like they do but after they told me that woman and young girls do that sort of work hgv lgv driving it went down in my estimation as the job for me…

So you are saying you are not an HGV driver? And yet your a member of a TRUCK forum and your main contribution is insults and arguing?
There’s a word for people like you on the internet. Its called being a troll.
Sounds like we have someone who has tried for his TVlicense a few times and failed. …snip

Contra’s a master at button pushing - if you take it personally, you’re on a hiding to nowhere! This is web world - it’s all banter ffs. :grimacing:

agreed, all I am saying is he really has a problem with agency drivers, has one of them wrecked his motor, left a mess inside or other

Harry Monk:
I don’t have a name plate in my windscreen, others do, but since it does not detrimentally affect me or anybody else in the slightest, I try not to have sanctimonious and holier-than-thou opinions about it.

+1,seems a bit of a strange post, from what I can make out he is saying if you have a nameplate in your window you are not a safe driver, strange

gripper1:

truckman020:
gripper 1 has a problem with name plates in windows, contraflow obviously has a real problem with agency drivers, lets face it that’s all he ever mentions when posting or replying, obviously like gripper 1 ,an obsession

Truckman…I think the people who have done all the ■■■■■■■■ about the observations I have commented about are doing it because I have hit a nerve.I think they have realized that they have left themselves open to ridicule because of their strange need to tell everyone their name…

I agree about the nameplate post,it is a strange one to put on here, all I am saying is you seem to have a real problem with agency drivers, all I can think is one or two or more must have pxxxxd you off previously, quite a few employed drivers have name plates,i don’t see the point of them, why advertise your name/nickname

Going back a long way to when there was one driver to one truck and especially when passing through numerous borders quite often, it was nice to be called by name, rather than “Drive” or “Hey you”, when someone recognised you from previous visits.
I never had my name in the windscreen, but out front where it could be seen, as did many European drivers.

Conor:
Seeing a tipper on the back worries me when it comes to my safety more than a numberplate with the drivers name on in the window.

I agree. If anything, a nameplate in the windscreen is a reasurring sign that the man behind the wheel is a proper driver capable of securing a proper job for himself and not just some cab hopping unemployable agency muppet.

OI!!! I resemble that remark :open_mouth:

Being unemployable and a cab hopping agency DRIVER doesn’t make me unsafe, just means I’ve got a bad attitude and won’t work for peanuts

If you resemble that remark you are saying that he is right  :bulb:

Duh? Really… I’m shocked… It’s almost like it was a deliberate play on a saying… :unamused:

Ahhh, the old ‘I meant to say it’ comeback… even though that if you actually did it contained no irony or humour which is the only reason for doing it in the first place. Ok we believe you

Just joshing bud and relieving the boredom.

Sounds like we have someone who has tried for his hgv licenses a few times and failed. So because he cant pass the test he decides to come on here and throw insults.
Let me guess, you failed your umpteenth test yesterday didn’t you?
Dont worry mate, somewhere there is a nice shiny, small Transit van you can drive to let you feel like one of the big boys and you can give it the “Im thinking about my hgv licenses but not decided” to cover your inability to be a proper driver.

Snowman…calm down ,you are miles out with your assumption, you ok with that big word?..

Yes im fine with it thanks. You,however, are way off base with the calm down comment. For me to calm down I would first of all need to be angry.
Is your best answer to that accusation to respond with a calm down comment(?) and to use a 3 syllable word and imply I dont know what it means? Very childish and,to be honest, mearly confirming my comment that you are no better than an internet keyboard warrior. Well played sir, very well played

Snowman…are you trying to flirt with me?..

Your trying to hard with your attempts to convince everyone your just a comic who goes on a light hearted wind up for a bit of fun.
Its not working. Anyway, troll feeding times over.
You’ve failed to convince me your
A - not a troll
B - not someone who’s failed his HGVs and is jealous
Therefor I shall leave you to your ramblings and look forward to figuring out which new user name is yours when the inevitable happens and you have to slink away and come back as someone else

Don’t know about him being a comic Snowman, but I reckon he’s read a few after buying them with his paper round money.
