What's your favourite trailer manufacturer?

I have read a few topics on here about trailers but I would like to know who has a favourite.
I’m not talking about specialised but curtain siders, box or fridge.

Why do you like them? (well built, great design, small wheels, big wheels, megas, double decks, folding decks, multi use)

that would depend on what type of trailer it is, i pull skeletal trailers for containers, in that job, i prefer Dennison trailers, well built, don’t look as shabby as some other makes do after a few years

when i worked for someone else, we ran curtainsiders, my preferred choice there was SDC, purely for the look/design of them

absolutely hated Lawrence David pillarless trailers, could never keep the curtains tight :smiling_imp:

exactly that

gotta agree denison trailers are good for boxes sdc for curtains cant stand shmitz trailers cheap looking and crap

I cut up an export a few trailers, and i can say with confidence crane freuhauf are very well built. buggers to cut up, lawrence david, cut up nice and quick…

Several years ago when I was first on the tank containers, we had a few CF and one Don bur which were lovely trailers to operate, but my favourite at the time were Montracon straightframes. they lasted years and they were not even painted.

For tank container chassis defiantly Van Hool, good quality last forever and look very long time decent.
For semi’s defiantly Jumbo Helmond, old fashioned service and quality.
Specialist there is no much that beat Broshuis!

Cant fault Caledonians choice there, for fridges the Dutch built Chereau is top of my list. Hertoghs in Roosendaal make them as well as tautliners etc.For tankers Hobur, Holvrieka/Burg is top quality, Feldbinder a poor 2nd in my humble…

For our job, Fruehauf undoubtedly built the best quality trailers, just a pity they stopped building coilers 10 years ago. They were light and strong, I am using coilers I bought in 1995/96, and they’re still in use daily.

There is now a shortage of trailer manufacturers so the prices have increased accordingly over the past 4 years.
