what do you think the company you work for next 12 months will hold…are you expanding…downsizing…taking on new contracts…losing contracts???pay negotations■■?,
for the company i work for i think 2013 will finally finish the general haulage side of things off,the pallettrack side of business and general was split into two companys when the company took out a cva, pallettrack has had money invested into it i.e new warehouse, more vehicles where as the general is getting smaller and smaller.
a big contract is due up for renewal in the summer,if they dont get that then its goodnight i think…we havent had a pay rise for 5 years and there isnt going to be one this year from the poverty that is being cried out the offices!!!
im searching most weeks for new employment but alot of the jobs in my area are paying equally as crap wages as what im on now…as much as i would love to stay optimistic…i think 2013 could be a bad year…lets hope something good pops up for me before it all goes down the pan
My predictions concerning the co I work for are as follows,…They will completely ignore the concencus of opinion among every driver in every depot that we are well overdue a pay raise of some sort, will expect us to do as much as poss for as little as poss they can get away with paying us, will expect a “Team co” response from drivers regarding attitude to work even though in reality it is a “Them & us” type co, will continue to insult our intelligence by pleading poverty and at the same time display the real picture with the boss’s lavish holidays hobbies and private vehicles, will disregard any request for a Friday finish or even an early Fri finish no matter how much notice is given, and at the same time get the guys home actually on said Friday who don’t mind or even want to work Sat, will look at you as if you have ■■■■■■ when you say you can’t do a Saturday because of some family commitment, and generally look upon their drivers as a necessary evil rather than an asset…in fact same as last 3 yrs I have been there to be honest

Yes, it’s strange why they do that, but they do. I’ve worked for more than one firm where it seemed to be company policy.

Fine, just going to carry on as I am through the Winter and provisionally looking at getting a second truck about April for something that’s in the pipeline although it’s not set in stone.

Quite often I seem to have been going to places that I’ve always considered the yard to be busy to the point of being a pain in the arse, got there and been surprised how dead it is for any time let alone Christmas.
I dont particularly care, i`m leaving the country
My company is doing very well and expanding very quickly with some new big contracts but I do worry they might end up doing what happened to Innovate Logistics and suddenly go pop.
made few few quid in 2012,
MD seems more than happy, we bought Tip EX last year and launched CM live
so as a company we are doing pretty well , as a title in the group we made a profit ( sorry to disapoint some folks)
Next year on our current results I can see us bucking the trend and investing in new opportunities.
It may dissapoint the doom and gloom merchants on here, But unlike them , I see the balance sheets , and TruckNet and its parent company are doing well and 2013 is only the start- so ours is looking pretty ■■■■ good

more than likely … although after the failure to drink the free bar dry last year the budget might be reduced

Could be a dangerous thread…
For me I don’t know and I like to know the facts from the office rather than 20 speculating drivers in a tea room

we bought Tip EX last year
I didn’t think you made any mistakes.
Our forecast is the same as last year, and the year before that and so on, We will loose money quicker than Berings Bank,we will have to all pull together and work harder, and there will be no money for a pay rise. Same ■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■ day!
Our company will expand i believe this year, we bought land next ours for £10 mil, and the plan is to build new packhouses on that land, Marshalls have been downsized, wages bought down to a sustainable level, and the rest of the group seems to be ok, so its onwards and upwards for us.
Were selling 10 or 12 of our bottom end pubs and in talks to buy 10 pubs, the latest purchases have been of good calibre and standard. Were putting out tenders for contract brewing so the possiblity of more tank work.
Just keep on keepin on

Can relate to that.
Going back a few years, there was talk on the loading bays that the company my boss was doing traction for were going to lose the contract after 12 years.
Yea,yea . . fast forward, Mat disappeared and 8 of us got made redundant
We are most def on the increase and expansion phase. Fleet increasing by feb up four on the total currently running - replacing 4 at the same time too. More work abroad and at home, is whats the situation at the moment.
