Plenty of work up that way , very reasonable priced houses. So whats it like ? Very local surrounding areas as well please .
Mate there are some good areas and bad areas as with any town. Unfortunately most are bad and the people very Jeremy Kyle Esk shall we say.
The house prices are very good with 4 bed detached going for around 200k on a relatively new estate.
Town centre ain’t much cop but with some big retail parks nearby you can avoid it.
Hope this helps

cheers Pacman. I’d just want a quiet place to live in , with a bit of a garden . Doubt I’d ever go to the town center, as I’m 46 now and wouldn’t be moving for at least 4 years so not too many heavy nights out. On the rare occasions I felt like a mad one I’d go back to London for a night out as that’s were my mates are .whats Northampton like? Read a book not that long ago about an ex undercover cop and he reckons the city had been taken over by Yardies from Birmingham , massive smack and crack problem apparently , is this the case?
The centre of Northampton is very bad for druggies and yardies mate, some nice places on the outskirts though. Ecton, Little Billing, irthlingborough , with house prices still reasonable.

LOL, no it hasn’t been overtaken, and as far as I’m aware there is no massive smack or crack problem. If there is, then I, and everybody I know, have had no dealings or trouble from it - ever. It’s fine. Our main problem is congestion! But it’s less than an hour from London on the train, house prices have risen quite slowly compared with much of the country, and you’re never more than 10 minutes away from the countryside. It’s very central so there is a lot of HGV work here, and always has been.
