I’ve got a box on the rear of my chassis that I keep ratchet straps in. As you can see, the handle is broken. It originally had a T grip on the end.

It’s not a great problem, Mole grips will open it but as the box is getting tatty, I’m planning on taking it off and respraying it, so I thought I’d replace the handle at the same time. I’ve tried Googling for “toolbox handle”, “truck cubby box handle” etc, but drawn a blank. Does anyone know what it’s actually called and where I can get one? Ta.
I’ve got them on my toolboxes too, the guy who services my wagons keeps them in stock !
I’ll ask him where he gets them from

So it’s called a “recessed compression latch”. Never in a million years would I have guessed that!
The one in the pic is similar, but doesn’t look like a direct bolt-on replacement. If I can find one which is, then I’d prefer to go down that route, there’s only so much money one can spend on a Renault!
The ones on my toolbox look more like yours than the one on the plowman website !
If you can have a word with your man and get back to me, I’d be grateful.

Yes, that’s it, I’ll give them a call, thank you!

Yes, that’s where I would go. Also call in to their trade counter at Walsall if/when you’re next that way on the M6 and you can get them all keyed-alike. Bought dozens to do a whole wrecker body there and were cheaper than elsewhere too.

Harry. Try this bloke. I have used him in the past for Anti Luce and Over Centre fasteners as well as tanker Tee Keys. It saves a trip to Walsall. Don’t go there Son!
Is there not a Name or product code on it Harry ■■
