Same up here, easy sheet conks out, they send someone out to fix it etc, no messin’ about.

You sound a bit fussy fella. Having to share a wagon is a fact of life for most drivers. A wagon to yourself is a luxury. Doing skips, working for waste companys you must be mad a lot of them are dodgy operators with minging wagons in crap enviroments. I would stick with good clean maritime and expect to clean out your cab everytime its been out with another driver.

The problem isn’t so much the state of the lorry I bet, as much as the amount of time that you spend in such a state for the £’s.
Containers has always been towards the bottom of the pay scale but with long hours of doing not a lot to give a liveable wage.

99% of the time, you keep your own wagon in this game too, rare you have to share it, but if you do, normally it’s with someone you know, so they respect your kit.

I was off sick yesterday, and an agency guy was in my wagon, when I went in today, he’d left his sat nav and things in my truck, so I returned them to the security lodge in case he needed them for an alternative job today. Could’ve drove around with them in my truck all day - not my problem kind of attitude, but it’s easier just to do the right thing.
He left my truck clean and organised (well, as clean and organised as he found it anyway).

Bit of mutual respect would make Ovlov’s job much nicer.

Christ Jay that sounds just like Stobarts, apart from the microwave and fridge!!
I’m getting a new truck at the end of the month and too be honest I’d sooner keep my 3yr old FH as I know it will go the same way as yours is going.
The more I hear about Maritime, the more I think we’ve got the same management!!
As for someone saying your too fussy, that’s ■■■■■■■■!,nothing wrong with a bit of pride when your in it so long,I keep mine clean, had the company photographer take pics of mine as he couldn’t believe how old it was.
Good luck in your job search,it always seems the bigger the James hunt, the better you get on in transport.

I’m not fussy pavarotti, just want to get respect in my environment. If I leave it clean on a friday I shouldn’t have to clean it again on monday morn. The reason I want to work for a recycler is because they’re not hauliers, they make the dough on the load, they tend to treat you better

There’s plenty of firms in the waste game that treat you like crap mate. It’s the same in any industry there are good and bad firms.

I agree kr, but i’m just feeling like i need to try another part of the industry. There’s some smart kit in that game now and I would only do it if i felt the firm was the right one. I think if you get a good firm you will be treated better than any haulier will
