Hi guys, I was thinking… my last job was with Challange Transport, and some how I got used to these 13-16 ph 10h. guaranteed pumping my bank account, suddenly they started dropping rates down and now they’re forcing me to work for 12 ph and no hours guaranteed.
As been a foreigner I started asking brit drivers about their rates (I know it’s not polite) and they confirmed the dropdown…
So I decided to create my own website to promote these 13-16 ph, as I wouldn’t like to work for less… How do you think WE can fight these low rates and I am not talking about Challenge only, I like them very much, they are so much different than most of agencies I’ve been working with.
What’s the best way to become a direct subbie, most of transport companies like to work with speciffic agencies, and no one new is allowed on the market?
And I am pretty sure transport companies pay much more than 13-16 to te agencies and I don’t mind that, if they don’t cut too much…

But what I generally mean, let’s not agree to work for less then 13-16 ph for a begining, we all have our expences and life to live.

90% of truckers lack brain power to comprehend the situation of low pay and why they in it. Other 10% of smart ones are minority and can’t do nothing about it.
They are not ‘forcing’ you to work for twelve quid an hour no matter how much you try to over-dramatise it. Just tell them to poke it and walk away if the money is not what you consider yourself to be worth.
No less than £550 in the bank for me. Usually do 1 or 2 nights out a week for that though. But I’m on containers, currently writing this while laying on the bunk watching a dvd, with a half hour ride back to Tilbury and done for the week when loaded. My last 26 week ref had me at 37 hrs average work. So I feel I get paid well for the effort I put in. I could chase another 100 a week, but how many more hours and nights out will I have to do? And I won’t work weekends either

Some of you sarcastic, some patronizing. Curently I am chasing the good money 62 miles in one direction from Stafford to Trafford Park, saying NO to numerous offers of 10, 10.20, etc. And honestly, I feel better working less for more than more for same, accepting silly offers like these metioned.
I think these rates are achievable. Just ask. You’ll be surprised how responcive agencies could be when drivers are in demand.
And I am not dramatising, of cource, I am just sharig my humble experience here. Please don’t get offended!
