Whats the chances Enfield test be cancelled Thurs?

Ive got a bit of a dilema at the moment, ive got a catch up lesson booked for £200 tomorrow & 2nd test in Enfield Thurs.

I`m a financially struggling self employed driver and dont get paid for time off. I wanted to have it so my catch up lesson was within 24hours of the test

Now i know there quite strict at the test centres with regards to driving conditions on tests. I could loose 2 days work, do a £200 lesson for nothing & still not have my test on thurs because of the snow/ice.

Or

I could take a gamble, cancel the lesson for another day & take a chance that the test would be cancelled.

Tried calling the DSA no. but its an automated nightmare & my driving school dont seem to be giving me a clear answer.

I know its impossible to predict 100% but if there are any London based driving examiners or anyone else out there who can give me a rough idea on the test situation in London area this week? Very much appreciated.

I’m a long way from Enfield but I’m very familiar with snow having had it for 2 solid weeks up to last weekend.

The criteria for whether or not a test runs is reasonably clear, but still subject to interpretation by the centre manager. LGV tests tend to stick, pretty well, to main roads. Provided they are clear enough so that the road markings and curbs can be seen, that will normally be ok. But if there’s a “false” curb made up of old snow, it’s a no no. Also all the lanes have to be clear eg on dual carriageways.

I’m an optomist by nature, but I would be surprised if tests were running in your area on Thursday. That’s from my understanding of the road conditions in your area.

But no=one can make a definite decision until just before the test officially.

Whatever you do, good luck with it.

I just spoke to my driving school, they werent that confident either in it going ahead. Think ill play safe & cancel it til another day :frowning:
