What's the best way to find part time work in Kidderminster?

I want to reduce the hours I work a week and part time driving looks the best option.
There’s a few jobs advertised locally, but they’re all the usual 40 hours + overtime + weekends as if that’s a good thing. I suppose ideally, I’d like a guaranteed 20 hours, averaging 25-30, with the occasional 40. Is that asking too much?
I believe there’s a few agencies operating in this area supplying drivers to HDNL, Wisemans and others around Droitwich. Can anyone recommend any of them or tell me which ones to avoid?
If I sign up with an agency, can I cherry pick the £14ph weekend and nights work, or have I got to take whatever’s on offer?
I’m a truck mechanic really, not a driver, but I have often covered for absent drivers and have experience with skips, tippers, curtainsiders, containers and tankers.
As a mechanic, I’ve never done any CPC training, so I guess I’ll have to set aside 35 hours and ~£400 before I can start. Any recommendations for a local trainer, or should I arrange it via whichever agency I sign up with?

Christ you don’t want spoon feeding do you. If you are prepared to work for £14 per hour on weekends for class one work then sorry but you are a fool.

Sounds to me like the only way you are likely to get the hours you want is by going down the agency route. Prepare to be lied to and shafted royally.
