Shunting from Coca Cola Edmonton to a satellite warehouse on the same estate used to pay 73quid a load, easy to do ten a night, 20quid on diesel and 45quid was a night’s wages then, that was a decent earner, I had an F16 Globetrotter on that

This week £1500 for 0 miles job cancelled but still had to pay as per T & C’s. If only we had one of those a week eh :unamused:

Had one a few weeks back similar. Motor heading to Scotland for collection got a call as driver was having a break at Hamilton “messed up can’t load today sorry”. Brought the motor back and they paid full whack for it. I went up and loaded it in mine the following day. :open_mouth: They had to pay twice for the same job

1990 Taking Radar Equipment from Harlow to Zurich Airport £3000.
Groupage back to Rainham Essex £900 Happy Days !.Left on Monday
Back Thursday morning.

About 4 yrs ago, booked in to do two local runs, £180 each trip.
Company I was working for were installing new computer system and got it wrong.

The yard where I was loading from was 300 yrds from my house, so I booked in at 6.00am and sat there untill breakfast, and then walked home for my breakfast.

Waited until miday and walked home for lunch. When I got back I was told nothing would be loaded today, and was told to put an invoice in for £360.

The beauty of it was that I used to park in the same yard, so I never even started the motor.

Creamey !
