Thinking of getting a dash cam, as it seems in this day and age, you need to do whatever you can to protect your arse when or if the inevitable happens. I want something decent but for not alot of money.
Countless cheap and free apps for phones these days

25 pounds delivered. Full HD with GPS and G-Sensor.
Bargain, and the quality is very good - you can read number plates from the footage.
Got mine off amazon. £11.95. Very plasticy but good quality. Only problem is the battery doesnt charge so I have to have it plugged in all the time. Its the first one on the amazon page.

After some research this seems good value/good quality compromise.

that looks like a good one for the price. Small so it doesn’t obscure your vision, and it looks like a nice clear picture.
Yeah that’s the same sort in my link, the guy at techmoan reviews them & for the money you can’t go wrong.
The £25 one will not work very well at night although if you only drive in the day, should be alright.

G1W gets my vote. Cheap but not ■■■■. Full 1080p the picture on my 50" tv is stunning. Been using it for the last fews months and its not missed a beat.
Anyone got one of these might give it a shot for £25

LS300W is what I’d say is the best for night video in terms of quality : price : reliability ratio.
There’s a good youtube comparison of the 3 best night video DVRs at the bottom of this page : dashcamtalk.com/powerucc-panoramaii/
They reckon that the PanoramaII is the best but it trades extra light for more grain imho. I prefer the clarity of the LS300W by a small margin, but look at the difference in price between the 2. I own the Mobius and with WDR mode enabled it provides excellent day time footage and acceptable night time footage - certainly good enough to see clearly what has happened in an incident on an unlit road anyway. You won’t get any registration numbers at speed at night time if that’s what you’re after.
