What's the average hourly rate and average hours class C?

LeeG do it the way i have done it. i have passed my class 2 and working part time at the moment and i am saving that money to do my class 1 as its more money and easy to find jobs in north west. Dont leave your permanent job until atleast you got your class 1 in hand i think. Class 2 is kinda hard work lots of hand balling from depot to depot and back to yard everything but Class 1 is easy and its more money so aim for the big 1. Goodluck.

Thanks JaxDemon i understand its hard work but i dont mind grafting if i find the money is worth it and after being on minimum wage so long it sound good money

I was thinking about this recently and thought this was possibly better option than quitting my current job for a Class2 multidrop job although the thought of driving a Class1 for a living with no experience in Class2 sounds scary lol and the extra cost of training whilst im poor could be a problem :frowning: but it makes sense as the money is better etc

Whats the bidvest rates chaps?I have an interview and drive test there ,Cheers

What a load of ■■■■■■■■

The pay up here in the North East ( or is it scotland    this far north ) the pay between Cat C or Cat CE is very little you can be payed anything from £7.50 per hour up depends on who you work for etc

The hours very as well but normally more than 45 per week some places like you to max your hour out

I managed to find a Cat C+E with no experience easy enough

Bit I would go for that CE as I found when passed mine was offered a lot more jobs than when just had C it can open a lot more doors for you

Think it works out to like over £12 ph. Then it’s time and half for overtime after 48h. Some lads at PH easily earning over 35k a year.

Just don’t feel pressured to take the first thing offered or have people try blagging ya wage because of no experience. My mate who I used to work with has just joined my new place now on £400 a month more. His previous place fobbed him off with no experience on class 2 BS when he’d been driving a 7.5 Tonne doing home deliveries for a furniture company and that was driving in some crap locations.

Patience is a virtue.

Just booked my Mod 1 and Mod 2  Mod 1 is in 3 weeks

details about the Class 2 driver role i was offered today at bidvest after passing the drive interview .seems a good place ?

Basic Salary: £28,943.97 per annum

Allowances: £60.63 Location Allowance per week and £60.63 Attendance Allowance per week, providing you have 100% attendance during that week

Hours/Days of Work: Annualised hours

Holiday Entitlement: The holiday year runs from 1 April to 31 March. In a complete holiday year (as a four day driver) you will be entitled to 23 working days holiday, 3 of these days should be UK public holidays and the remaining 20 may be taken at any time.

Looks ok if you don’t loose time ,they do pay you for 51 hours but you work 4 12’s ,but you could be stood in for another shift a month ,depending ifhours are up or down .anyone on this ?

On class VAN , 35k can be beaten mate, it just depends on your T&C’s and whether you’re prepared to work yourself to death for it! :open_mouth:
Next home deliveries in Basingstoke can push close to 40k, but you’re put the hours in lumping stuff like sofa’s into peoples houses… :open_mouth:
The BathStore also apparently pay well, I wonder why?

As for Class 1 where you have minimal interaction with the load, it then becomes more about the T&C’s, like the overtime rate and when it kicks in!
