What's the A46 n/b like upto Stroud through Nailsworth?

Got a collection out of the old airfield at Frampton Mansell near Stroud in morning and I am parked at Yate tonight and was wondering what the A46 is like upto Stroud after Chipping Sodbury? I can’t go onto the A433 towards Cirencester due to there being a 13 foot bridge near Cirencester and our trailers are 14 foot 11.
Got to be at the collection for 07:30 in morning. Thanks for any help.

Isn’t it Nailsworth then Stroud?
The A46 from Sodbury is a nice ride, you can’t get to Cheltenham on it now, a NIMBY limit is in Painswick.
It’s well signed to the M5 from Stroud, nice place if you like historic buildings, Fred Dibnah would be well at home, loads of old mills and chimneys  .

Yeah pal. It just looks a bit windy and its goes from a green A road to a red one so was wandering if there were any tight spots or narrow villages? It’s ok for artics then?

I did the collection the other week but as I was travelling s/b on the M5 and had stayed at Tewksbury the night before I just came off at Junction 13 and come along the A419.

It’s not that bad really.

Quite a nice road compared to most but if I remember, it gets a little twisty as you get close to Stroud but nothing to worry about.

Some of the bends are probably more negotiable in artics than long wheelbased rigids. Quite a few artic tippers use it on their way to Sodbury quarry.

Yeah I did it the other week mate so know about the place. Just that as I’m coming at it from a different direction and I’ve never used the 46 before after Yate. Cheers for the help anyway.
