I’m not sure if it’s worth starting a new thread for this, but just curious as what’s “spot fleet”?
There is a job available on T of S website, and it’s been there for ever, so must be carp.
Anyone out there knows anything about it?
The job advert goes like this:
"We require class 1 drivers to be based at Silvertown working on our spot fleet. There are day and night shifts available and positions are full time with variable start times. Weekend work and occasional nights out will be required. "
But didn’t Wincantonski come up with their own agency for use within their own contracts a few years ago, could this be a similar thing, send you anywhere anytime?
Spot Fleet on tankers usually means the truck is NOT on a dedicated contract … IE - you might load out of say Tate & Lyle, tip, wash then load out of ADM … as opposed to purely working out of one customer.
Hope this makes sense
Some drivers may not like this work, as you may never know where / what next job / load is … but probably similar to tramping work … only on tankers, there are fewer options for next load
This might explain why there are not many takers.
Whenever I check Turners website and their careers section, this job is always there available.
They would probably take anyone with a pulse, so might be a good opportunity for a newly qualified driver to get a start.
The other one that never disapears from their website is international tramper on powder tankers, must as c*apy as the one on spot fleet, lol.

Might just be that they aren’t very “hot” on updating the website . Could be with international job, that the money / hours aren’t very good … I think much of it is only “Channel - hopping” to tip / loads sugar tanks in N. France
