What's sauce for the goose Boris?

London mayor Boris Johnson called for a show of “Thatcherite zeal” as he joined backbench MPs in demanding an overhaul of the law to make it harder to call strikes.

Johnson said was “farcical” that a strike could be called with the backing of less than half of union members and has urged the government to rethink legislation on taking industrial action.

Funny how it’s ok for electing MPs though?

Great idea abstentions should be counted in a general election too in which case the 53% tory vote of the 76% turnout in the 1979 general election wouldn’t have been enough to get Thatcher elected. :smiling_imp:

Or for that matter the 61% vote of the 72% turnout in 1983 or the 57% of the 75% turnout in 1987. :unamused:

It doesn’t take a genius to realise that Thatcherism is closer to Communism and weak unions, than it is to Capitalist Fordism with strong unions which is actually what built the modern developed industrialised western economies.Which even the Chinese Communist Party now seems to be realising. :open_mouth:
