What's been your highest value load?

As said earlier in post used to deliver aero engines one I loaded at Caerphilly a new one for airbus was allegedly worth £8,000,000 if only I knew someone to sell it to

Numerous loads of 40+ kids on various trips around the UK & Europe…would hate to try and value that!

I carried a full load, up to the roof, of computers to a London school.
Had to hand-ball them all off!

a while back i took a full load of jack daniels from bellshill to Ljubljana, Central Slovenia remember sitting at dover for 3 days cause nobody would insure it…war was still going on.to this day i dont think the load went to the right people …

limeyphil:

C’mon Vern, admit it. Limeyphil really got under your skin there!

£900,000 ■■■■■■ for Pfitzer to Italy when I was on Matthews lol
do you had secuarity and you trailers was sealed or not■■?

there are basically only 2 bolts hold on a jet engine and they are called donkeys plonkers! Also the 5th engine on the jumbos aren’t spares, they are test engines and actually running.

My daughter when she was 5 minutes old!

Once took a 7.5 t for the MOD up to a place in Chester, I had a dozen “empty” polystrene cases on. When i started throwing them off, I asked the guy what was so important about a few empty boxes, he told me that each box contained about £3million worth of hi-tech avionics!

I’ve done containers full of foreign banknotes from De La Rue, I imagine they’re pretty valuable in the right place

Pharmacuticals or computer parts would be the most expensive ‘regular’ loads though, often there would only be a pallet or two as the value was so high, never made much difference to how the job got done though, to observers it was just a normal lorry doing a normal job, I suppose that’s why it is done that way, no sense advertising things and making a big deal out of it
