Nice informative pic Harry: Made before the WTD i suspect. 10:00 to 15:00 with no break - tut tut.
Why would you need a break with only 5 hours duty, the break is well covered

so this V trace thing?
surely it dosn’t register anything with a magnet on?
Where do you put the magnet on an anilogue tacho then.

same place as a digi. the sender unit.

If your tipping off the card and do say 2kms don’t put new card in till you’ve done 10 keeps the trace in the same area as the card that was removed,But then there would be a V missing, that’s the whole point of the V trace.
Is there anything to stop a manual entry with a straight edge and a small nail?

You would also have to manually change the speed trace and the activities trace to fill the gaps, then prepare for a spell of unemployment if you get caught.
Get caught doing it on a regular basis and I imagine a short spell in one of her majesties hotels might be a possibility.

OK OK - only 5 hours - so shoot me someone

Yes. There is no way you could ever make it look like a recording made by a tachograph, rather than a manual entry made with a straight edge and a small nail. What you are proposing is the adult equivalent of “the dog ate my homework”

Your wish is my command Santa baby!
when did they change the name from distance trace to V trace?

It’s a bit like “truck”, “lorry” and “wagon”, just different names for the same thing. Certainly everybody else seems to have heard of it before.
Not me!
I always thought that the “V” trace was the speed , i.e. Velocity.
Not that I ever gave it much thought!
Velocity, being a vector quantity, has to have a direction element to be valid. Just thought I’d pedantically drop that in for no good reason.
to be equally pedantic, the speed trace on the chart only shows one direction, so could be assumed as the vector, i.e. straight ahead

Yeah when VOSA examine these charts they are magnified to such an extent that all info on there is clearly visible and any interference is so easily picked up.
Tsssscoh, kids of today!
