What you go for

hi not sure what to do …i work for an agency some Sundays and they pay £16 an hour but its supermarket stuff and loads of cages pump truck ect tight yards loads of paper work… not regular … i have been offered a straight trunking job but only £12 p/h he says its easy regular every weekend if i want it… whats the general thoughts on this

Hi Rob
Was in the same position a while back doing agency work for Poundland in Willenhall doing shops like you say some places were a nightmare, wrong way down a no entry bus only lane kind of thing but had the opportunity to work for Hermes trunking 1 hit a day there and back job done.
Money was good at the agency but sat back and thought do I need the extra hassle and grief for the extra money? So I took the permanent trunk job instead.

Hope this helps

Jeff

The people that design the plans for Lgv unloading areas at supermarkets should be made to drive in there and unload it.
What with all their junk they leave for months in the space you need.Asda in Trowbridge: Drive in then spin around on a 360 degree.
It is easy to rip out or break the air lines/suzies or take them out and use the shunt button.
As to your question it is £16 as nobody wants the grief so go for the other job.
One store banned the use of their scissor ramp which did make unloading milk cages quicker as a driver upset them so we all got punished.
By using the trailer tail lift it took ages and then empty cages back on.
They made out the scissor lift was broken if you insisted on using it and they piled up pallets on it to block it.
Then they were ringing up to say what was taking so long. Some supermarket managers can be unpleasant at times. They ■■■■ up to customers but out the back doors you se a different side to their cosy housewife pleasing publicimage.
