A up started a new jobs a couple of weeks ago and at the interview I was asked what shift pattern would I like had to do eaither sat/sun so I sed I will do sun/thurs one week sun/fri next so any way he rang me me last Saturday morning need a favour will pay you double so I sed yeah ok,same happend Saturday just no mention of double and I rang out of driving time had to park up for 22 hours this was never mentioned at interview and I also stressed the fact that my hours were high so the question is what would you do?say?
If my hours were high I’d have said no in the first place regardless of double pay
If you haven’t got the hours to complete the day’s work then don’t start it,especially if it’s the end of the week.
They can’t be all bad if they’re paying you double for it…more than my lot would ever do.
So you’re getting paid an extra full shift and a n/out for a single period.
Are you tramping or days?
What would I do?..As I said they seem to be a fair enough outfit, I would just explain that you don’t mind helping out in unforseens from time to time, but to take into consideration your max hours next time, and if it means you parking up for a full rest period again, you aint too keen in future (assuming here that you aint btw) …and see what happens.

- you should be telling them to [zb] off.
- you should be purchasing some lube and looking for a non-driving job for when the Ministry take you to court and revoke your licence for working 7 days on the bounce.

Have you actually got the double pay yet?
This 22hrs off? What pay for that? Just a standard night out?
Look at how long you were away from home and how much it paid you. Worth it??

Take the money, check they paid the double time, if they haven’t, don’t do it again.
