What would you have done

Paulc:
We are all human when faced with this sort of thing, we quickly think is that right or wrong to take it, whats happened in past.

Well to all those “Best there is… past, present and future! Ohhhhh yeahhhh!” i would have taken it.

Four weeks before this, said day driver complained to TM about state of some of the trailers coming back from Manchester cos i do a trailer swap everynight, he was complaining some of the curtain sider poles were bent in the middle so not in slot properly and so on, so TM gives me a talking to make sure trailers are prefect or refuse to take them, Ta Dah.

I rest my case.

In which case you did right.

About not getting paid, I would put in an official complaint about it. Not getting paid for refusing to break the law etc. I didnt get my bonus a few months ago because I refused to take a couple of ADR pallets because the lorry wasnt up to ADR spec. Put in an official complaint because the stupidly told me that the reason was not taking those pallets.

Either take notes and get the person you speak to to sign and print clearly everything you have discussed or tell them you will be recording the conversation.

No leg to stand on, pot to ■■■■ in etc

Good lord people, its showing red which would be good enough for me. You all worry too much, fines, ‘its my licence’ etc. You’re unlikely to get stopped let alone fined, and were aren’t at the point where we lose or licences for a broken light with a stop hai repair. You should have taken it imo. It wouldn’t hurt. And of next day it’s still not fixed then make a fuss. I would have attached it a bit more securely tho. Cue the condescending ‘hero’ posts…

It is [zb] like you that has resulted in companies like that thinking its OK to send any old crap out on the road as long as the wheels turn.

Thanks for nothing, ■■■■■■. I see the usual band of cowboys have jumped in to support you. When you get the support of that Irish ■■■■■■ its like a confirmation of what a prick you are.

Which Irish ■■■■■■ would that be then? As far as I am aware Switchlogic is English and Dieseldog is Scottish, disagree with people by all means but if you have to resort to using racist language then you have well and truly lost the arguement

looks like yet another wee hissy fit by your man that seems to despise truckies so much if they are not applicable to his perfect bubble beancounting world of agency driving…dummy looks well spat out now.hardly surprising agency with zero hours is the claim to fame there, realistically what normal company would employ someone with that mindset…wernt we all waiting with baited breath to see when the enevitable beancouting ■■■■ reply would pop up? no doubt along the lines of,i could get a real job if I wanted to but I want to have a zero hours job so I can work when I want and take days off when I want because it suits my misses and il tell all the agencies clamouring for me to work for them il do a shift when I deem them worthy of my time as im a number 1 driving god above all others, and if you don’t agree with me then yaa boo ■■■■■.and blinking flip to everybody else…blablabla.its like listening to a 5 year olds logic here…yet again so boring and predictable.hohum…zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Well done Conor a fool you are yet again :unamused:

if i’d done it up the road I would
have got it home as was.
But to expect it to be taken out after no way

I have to ask.
Were there no other trailers in the yard with those lenses?
Were there no spare lenses in any of the units?
Were there no spare lenses in the traffic office or workshop/stores?
I’m asking this because even although I’ve not pulled a trailer with those lenses on in quite a few years, I’ve still got a box of them in my garden shed and if I was using those type of trailers regularly I’d carry a spare set.
Just curious.

Im sick of the taste of popcorn now.

A few years ago now got a call to do a night trunk as their own driver had gone sick,Turned up unit had both nearside mirrors smashed and a number of bulbs and lenses on the trailer out/broken. I said to the TM you need to get the mirrors and the lights sorted before I take that out. Lots of moaning finally gets a mechanic out.
In the meantime get a call from the agency the client has rung and said you are being petty about a couple of minor faults with the unit and trailer told the agency fella what the score was and finished off with its my licence and I am happy to go home again if its a problem. Anyway gets sorted and head to Bilston for a trailer swap on the road think to myself she’s flying look at the speedo obviously the limiter is not working.
Get to Bilston the trailer I am picking up has more bulbs and lenses missing. I says to the driver you bought that up like that knowing its a swap, he says yeah but looks like the one I’m taking back is ok ,not for long mate says I as I promptly remove the bulbs and lenses I need to put on the trailer I am taking back, Gets another call from the agency saying the client says you are removing lenses and bulbs uneccesarily again tell the agency bloke the score and give him a choice I am coming back with or without the trailer which would you like, carry on came the reply. Get back the TM signs my sheet albeit reluctantly and says I doubt if we will be using you again ,well that saves me telling you to stick your job up your arse in the future does’nt it.

Truckers are ten a penny. Reliable, professional and conscientious LGV drivers are a lot harder to get.

Company I used to work for have gone through over 150 employees in under 3 1/2 years.

150 in 3 1/2 years Omg so whos the issue the TM or management …

Yea, that does sound like something is seriously wrong.

Swampey2418:

The TM is the manager and has problems. They normally take on the first person that walks through the doors, not the person most suited to the job.

I refused to take ADR pallets when the lorry wasnt upto scratch. I never got my bonus until I made an official complaint and complained to the area manager.

Convo went something along the lines of:

M why didnt I get my bonus?
H you refused to take those pallets
M which ones? the ADR ones?
H yes those ones
M so you took my bonus because I refused to run illegally?
H no no no, thats not it
M but it is because I refused to take those ADR pallets
H yes
M cant say on here cos it will all get censored

Spoke to the area manager and put in an official complaint. Got my bonus in the next pay.

i maybe missing the point here but was the trl fit for purpose.

yes take it.

no dont take it.

i would not take a trl like that out of the yard.

I don’t know the geeza but I’ve seen his vids and he seems to have done a good job to promote driving. What have you done? On subject of personal attacks. You sound like a right bell end. Do you have to ave a hi line cab to get your big head in?

He can’t, he’s got a personality disorder and it’s one of the reasons why he’s stuck on agency doing the crappy night shifts that nobody else wants.

Don’t forget the agency should be happy and privileged that a man of his standing has offered his services to them.

How Conor was created.
