What would you/could you do?

I was waiting in the queue to book in at Calais yesterday, I glanced over to the truck on my left, and noticed that the front wheel on the trailer only had 3 or 4 nuts holding it on!

We’d been sat there a while, so I jumped out, went over to the truck and knocked on the door. The guy was Eastern European, Romanian I think, anyway, I showed him the wheel and he just shrugged his shoulders, muttered something and went back to his cab! :open_mouth: :unamused:

So this leads me to my question. What could I/should I have done?

We phoned VOSA when we got to Dover, but what are the chances of them ever finding or catching this fella?

If it was close to falling off, whichit sounds as though it was, then I would think the chances were very good indeed.

I just hope it went away from the traffic and away from houses, etc…

That’s really frightening when you think of what the consequence could be, its a shame you didn’t get a photo. Just imagine if vosa had a unit permanently at dover checking all eastern Europeans as they come off the ferries ! I just hope he gets caught quickly.
